Real Estate Attorney Duties: Provide support to GVA's in-house attorney(s) and transaction manager and analysts. Review, assess, and prepare purchase agreements, contracts, conveyance documents, and other closing documents related to real estate transactions. Review and analyze title insurance commitments, title documents and surveys, and legal descriptions of the property. Review and assess financing options, lending requirements, and title affidavits. Review and respond to the lender, due diligence requirements on new acquisitions, refinances, and dispositions. Interface and communicate with title companies, outside vendors, and attorneys/Attorneys of lenders, buyers, and sellers. Prepare letters, memoranda, and other legal-related correspondence. Answer and evaluate lender, buyer/seller questions and escalate material concerns. Submit accurate legal documents in a timely manner. Assist in monitoring transactions and establishing deadlines.
Qualifications: JD from ABA-accredited law school. Must have 2+ years professional work experience in real estate. Extensive knowledge of real estate documents, contracts, applications, and submissions. Organized, detailed, and efficient. Above-average collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills. Attention to detail with the ability to multitask. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, and Excel preferred.
