Data Compliance Product Counsel Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations dealing with privacy, data protection, and more. Manage legal oversight of compliance offerings, scoping and design, go-to-market strategy, partnerships, and ongoing support. Provide prompt legal advice to teams (e.g., Engineering, Product Management, Audit, Office of the Chief Information Security Officer, Privacy, Global Affairs and Public Policy, etc.) on legal requirements for an evolving commercial and regulatory landscape. Support commercial teams to draft agreements templates to address evolving customer or regulatory requirements. Engage with external audiences (e.g., customers, auditors, and regulators) to explain Cloud's compliance strategy and product solutions.
Qualifications: J.D. or equivalent degree. 5 years of attorney-level experience in a law firm or in-house legal department. Admitted to the Bar in which position is located and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (i.e. registered in-house status). Preferred qualifications: Relevant work experience in SaaS, cloud computing, or enterprise software. Demonstrated experience advising customers in a fast-paced and changing environment. Experience responding to regulator requests and navigating supervisory audits or examinations. Experience designing and implementing cross-functional programs/processes to meet legal requirements. Experience driving complex projects across multiple time zones and stakeholder groups. Experience with global privacy laws (i.e., European and U.S. law).
