Corporate Counsel Duties: Review, draft, provide guidance on, and negotiate commercial contracts of all types, including large scale enterprise SaaS agreements. Partner with internal business clients to develop and execute action plans in order to resolve the issues presented in contract negotiations, as necessary. Support legal projects of almost every size and type, including those relating to privacy, security and compliance, as needed. Coordinate with subject matter legal experts and outside attorneys to ensure efficient delivery of legal services while providing guidance to the ELT and to product groups as necessary Assist with the development and implementation of forms and procedures for contract review and contract renewal or termination analyses. Develop strong relationships with internal contacts, including, Security, Risk Management, Finance, People Operations, Sales, Technology, and other appropriate departments to ensure high service level and anticipate special needs.
Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school and in good standing as a member of a state Bar. 2-5 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney; experience drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts as part of an in-house legal department for a fast paced, high growth software/SaaS company strongly preferred. Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, other security and privacy laws, and data security and privacy best practices. Experience working with cross-functional subject matter experts throughout an organization to provide a seamless experience to internal clients in addressing and resolving legal issues. Experience balancing legal and business considerations, including advising non-legal business leaders and executives on contracts and legal matters, strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Documented history of ability to balance the needs of multiple initiatives and competing demands. Collaborative work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented/open environment.
