Corporate Counsel The candidate will initiate, oversee and conclude the space lease drafting and negotiation processes, in consultation with the company's responsible Asset Manager and in collaboration with outside leasing attorneys (when appropriate). Expediently shepherd all legal instruments required by the management platform including service agreements, use licenses, access agreements, lease amendments and tenant-improvement construction agreements. Ensure that all assets and the company (in its capacity as the property manager and/or the operating member of the asset owner) comply with all legal obligations which apply, from title restrictions and ground leases to agreements with tenants and service providers. Assist and advise on matters relating to the company's robust acquisitions and development platforms as the need arises. Create, maintain and assure compliance for legal entities and draft and adapt general organizational documents based on template forms. Assist employees in closing processes related to financing, purchases and securities offerings. Oversee diverse internal operations priorities and liaise with state and federal agencies and regulators. Should have a JD Degree, active (or imminent) membership in the Virginia State Bar, 2+ years of real estate transactional experience in private practice. Experience in land use, insurance and the title is desirable.
