Legal Affairs Counsel, Employment And Compliance

Legal Affairs Counsel, Employment and Compliance The candidate will provide hands-on legal counsel to all levels of the company. Develop, update, and implement employment policies (including hiring practices, performance management, employee relations, internal investigations, terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour, compensation, and benefits) to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Draft and review key employment contracts, including executive employment agreements, offer letters, confidentiality and intellectual property agreements, and separation agreements. Draft and review commercial contracts, master services agreements, statements of work, nondisclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and other contracts. Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and present and implement strategic recommendations and solutions in a variety of subject matters, including but not limited to AH, AD, AML, vendor security, privacy compliance and contract approval.

The candidate should be Licensed to practice as an attorney (CA or NY admission preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant legal experience in a high-volume, fast-paced legal environment. Concentration in and enthusiasm for employment law and counseling. Experience with data protection, privacy, intellectual property, digital media and consumer-facing and internet industries a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including great attention to detail and proofreading skills. Desire and ability to work closely and collaboratively with legal and business team members while proactively and independently taking ownership of projects within the scope of the role.
