Senior Director, Global Employment Counsel

Senior Director, Global Employment Counsel Duties: Actively and strategically manage a broad range of global employment issues, including recruitment, hiring, terminations, compensation, accommodations, leaves of absence, and employee classification. Maintain and drive improvements to the company's employment-related agreements, including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, and independent contractor agreements. Provide strategic guidance and advice with respect to employment laws and requirements in multiple jurisdictions in which the company operates both domestically and internationally. Provide strategic guidance and advice on employee benefits and compliance-related matters (domestic and international). Assist our HR business partners in creating, implementing, and delivering policies, processes, and trainings related to global employment and benefits matters. Support immigration matters in consultation with external immigration consultants. Qualifications: JD Degree, licensed to practice law in at least on U.S. state, with 5+ years of relevant in-house or law firm experience. Demonstrated ability to manage complex employment issues with a focus on solutions and superior internal customer support without sacrificing quality. Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport and trust within Team Legal and with other business team partners. Excellent judgement, attention to detail and pragmatism in balancing risks. Able to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced emerging growth company environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently. Comfortable handling tasks and answering questions that are unfamiliar. Bonus Qualifications: Prior in-house employment experience for a company with international operations. Experience representing technology and/or emerging growth companies. Public company experience. Ability to maintain strong working relationships internally and externally. Have a strong sense of ownership and initiative. Ability to work remote effectively and focus on prioritizing properly. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, disruptive business. Obsessively organized and comfortable imposing that organization on others. Be a team player, have a sense of urgency and humor.
