Immigration Counsel The candidate will independently manage the preparation and filing of Form I-129 nonimmigrant petitions for company employees. This requires the timely filing of nonimmigrant petitions for both new hires and extensions of status for existing employees. Independently manage the scheduling of U.S. visa appointments at U.S. Embassies and Consulates located around the world. Assist Sr. Immigration Counsel with international immigration matters related to non-U.S. tours and events (including high-volume and time-sensitive information gathering, work permit filings, and visa appointment scheduling). Prepare and process supporting documentation related to petitions, including check requests, invoices and express delivery packaging. Coordinate scheduling with touring operations, including traveling units and individual personnel, as necessary for immigration. Manage and maintain without error (for a high volume of cases) detailed and accurate tracking spreadsheets, and other relevant immigration tracking documents/files. Assist with contract and other general overflow matters in the legal department.
The candidate should have a Juris doctorate; college degree. Registration with VA Bar as corporate counsel or VA bar membership. Should have 1+ years of experience. Experience preparing and filing U.S. immigration cases for nonimmigrant workers and the scheduling of U.S. visa appointments are preferred. Ability to independently manage a high volume of time-sensitive immigration cases throughout their entire lifecycle. Ability to maintain accurate tracking documents on the immigration status of employees, including detailed spreadsheets. Ability to conduct legal research and monitor changes to relevant laws. Ability to comport oneself in a professional manner and speak to a variety of people professionally and cooperatively, and be flexible in responding to work demands.
