Corporate Counsel, Public Sector

Corporate Counsel, Public Sector Duties: Support AWS's public sector sales team, negotiating, drafting, and advising on a wide range of procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters involving the U.S. intelligence community and defense customers. Typical transactions range from standard contracts to complex, high-dollar-value strategic enterprise agreements, framework agreements, and responses to requests for proposals and quotes.

Qualifications: J.D. and admitted to at least one State Bar. 5+ years of public sector-focused transactional and technology licensing legal experience. Knowledge of U.S. government procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations. Experience engaging with U.S. government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, and resellers. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in-house at a technology company or in a law firm advising clients in the government contracting or technology industry. Experience as a legal advisor to government procurement officials. A background in software licensing (including open source), web services/cloud computing or telecommunications is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators serving U.S. government agencies, state / local governments, and other public sector customers.
