Employment Counsel, Americas The candidate will provide day-to-day pragmatic, risk-balanced employment law advice to People team and business leadership in the Americas (Canada, the U.S., and Latin America) on all aspects of the employee life cycle-(recruiting/hiring, performance management, employee relations investigations, employee terminations and workforce restructuring). Assist with developing and continuously improving best-in-class employment law practices, procedures and policies. Assist in managinig and continuously improving contingent workforce program and its policies and agreements. Collaborate with the People team to generate and implement trainings on People and employment law topics. Assist with employment litigation, including drafting responses to demand letters and EEOC/state agency claims and supervising outside counsel as required. Coordinate and manage employment-related projects, policy drafting and oversight of HR/employment compliance programs, policies and procedures. Perform other special assignments or projects as needed in support of the Employment Law function and Legal Department. Keep up to date on relevant employment law developments and related compliance best practices.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree and member in good standing of any State Bar. Should have 5+ years of relevant experience in employment law. Possess the drive and ability to balance working autonomously and collaboratively in a highly dynamic fast-paced environment. Team player, detail-oriented and highly organized. Ability to interface and partner successfully with stakeholders at all levels and varying functions of the Company. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills. Flexible and creative, with the initiative to contemplate multiple solutions to issues and to proactively and reliably drive complex problems.
