Senior Corporate Counsel The candidate will prepare/review and negotiate all types of contracts on behalf of the business units, including non-disclosure agreements, contract manufacturing or private label arrangements, supply agreements, facility and equipment leases, non-compete agreements, consulting agreements, license agreements, and other contracts in support of business strategies and obligations. Provide advice and guidance to business personnel on day-to-day legal claims and issues, including third party claims that involve company products, intellectual property and statements made in advertising and on labeling. Support litigation on an as-needed basis, assisting with discovery, reviewing briefing and ensuring the stated strategy is consistent with business goals.
The candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Should have 10+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain legal concepts in a manner that is understood by personnel at all levels of the organization. In-house experience preferred. Experience in drafting, revising, analyzing and negotiating commercial agreements. Consumer products industry experience preferred. Litigation experience preferred. Ability to work independently while effectively supporting and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Business-focused relationship builder who builds trust at all levels of the organization. Some travel (domestic and international) may be necessary but this is not a high-travel position.
