Associate General Counsel, Global Privacy Compliance Assessment

Associate General Counsel, Global Privacy Compliance Assessment Responsibilities: Leading response activities related to external investigations of's privacy compliance program, including supporting engagement with auditors, regulators, and other third parties. Provide legal guidance related to privacy compliance audits by supporting governance bodies, privacy policy setting, monitoring and reporting on privacy controls, and escalated decisions on privacy issues and risks. Advise and provide day-to-day support to cross-functional groups responsible for auditor, regulator, and third-party relations. Investigate and advise on potential privacy issues related to corporate governance and external reporting. Collaborate with privacy compliance team tasked with developing and evolving a globally comprehensive privacy program, focused on assessing risks, designing and updating controls, monitoring and evidencing compliance, and evolving the program over time. Work with cross-functional partners across the organization to identify requirements, obligations and best practices, and translate them into executable technical and operational safeguards that can be implemented and tested. Contribute to other global privacy initiatives in furtherance of's legal obligations related to protecting personal data of users, employees, non-employees and other third parties. Support privacy monitoring and assurance efforts, identifying risks and gaps, and developing and implementing critical mitigation and remediation efforts. Qualifications: JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state Bar. 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet/technology companies and/or companies in highly regulated industries. Experience representing corporate clients before regulators and enforcement authorities. Experience with managing and leading responses to investigations and enforcement actions. Experience working with cross-functional management critical to a privacy organization. Preferred Qualifications. Experience working with external auditors, regulators and other third parties. Experience with global privacy and data protection laws. Experience communicating complex topics and driving decision making and alignment among stakeholders with varied interests and priorities.
