Associate Corporate Counsel The candidate will draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, including commercial, real estate, technology and vendor contracts, NDAs, and other transactional documents and agreements. Provide day-to-day legal advice and support to ADESA's 50+ vehicle logistics centers across the United States, including assisting with real estate, customer and dealer matters, disputes and demand letters. Stay informed of, and advise on, regulatory and compliance developments and work cross-functionally to implement appropriate changes into business operations, policies and practices. Oversee ADESA's efforts in obtaining and maintaining company licensure with various state regulatory agencies. Act as a strategic partner, understanding overall global business, technology and operational strategies and proactively identifying and analyzing potential legal issues in collaboration with other members of the legal team and outside counsel, as necessary. Work closely with other members of the legal team on a variety of projects and initiatives
The candidate should have a J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. State Bar. Should have 3+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department (a mix of both law firm and in-house experience is a plus), with significant transactional experience (including negotiating and drafting contracts). Must be detail-oriented and organized with excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills in dealing both inside and outside the organization. Must be able to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism in the workplace.
