Corporate Counsel, Payments

Corporate Counsel, Payments Duties: Support rapidly growing and evolving payments businesses. Serve as the primary attorney responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters, and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions. Work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements related to domestic and international payment method acceptance and providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas.

Qualifications: JD Degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar. 5+ years of legal experience (with 3+ years at a law firm). Strong corporate transactional background. Sstrong transactional background and be hard-working, proactive, entrepreneurial and able to apply sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines using pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations. Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical and computer skills. Great judgment and a good sense of humor. In-house experience is a plus. Experience in technology, payments or financial services transactions is a plus.
