Associate General Counsel II, Employment Responsibilities: Partner with key business areas from strategy through execution of complex business and Human Resources initiatives. Manage pre-litigation employment disputes and government agency investigations, including assessment, selection and supervision of outside counsel. Provide practical day-to-day advice and guidance to members of Human Resources and other business leaders on a variety of labor and employment issues such as discrimination; leaves of absence; disability accommodation; recruiting and hiring; performance management and discharge; wage and hour compliance; immigration; inclusion and diversity; contingent workforce; and employee privacy. Provide proactive training to business partners on labor and employment topics to mitigate risk and drive compliance. Partner with Human Resources on internal investigations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment-related legal developments and proactively promote compliance and champion efforts to mitigate risk. Review and update employment and compensation policies and plans. Scope of work and responsibility is for the entire firm (40,000 associates).

Qualifications: J.D. and license to practice in Missouri or an equivalent state. Should have 5 years of progressive responsibility as an attorney in private practice, in the public sector, or in an in-house counsel capacity. Work experience related to the securities industry is preferred. Prior in-house experience is preferred. Exceptional legal knowledge, judgment, work ethic and integrity. Extensive knowledge of the relevant legal areas and regulatory environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex matters.
