Senior Counsel - Intellectual Property Duties: Accountable for first chair support of global intellectual property program which will primarily involve trademark matters, but which will also encompass patent, copyright, trade secrets, domain names, enforcement actions, cancellation actions, oppositions, cease and desist letters, and related litigation management.
Qualifications: Must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited school of law, be licensed and in good standing in a state jurisdiction and become licensed in the state employed by Tyson. Should have 7 years of experience as an intellectual property counsel in an in-house corporate law department or law firm. Experience with advertising and marketing matters including the Lanham Act and NAD challenges would be a complementary skillset as would professional acumen related to intercompany licensing in support of tax functions. Electronic legal research skills, advanced word processing skills including experience in Word, trademark docketing systems, patent annuities, and computer skills that may include utilizing advanced functions in a spreadsheet, and departmental matter management programs. Excellent managerial, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to actively engage and work with members of the legal staff located at various offices. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
