Senior Counsel (International and Risk Control) The candidate will support International Solutions and Risk Control s initiatives and operational improvement/procedural changes by ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Partner with International Solutions and Risk Control leaders on the development and review of external-facing communication materials, marketing collateral, presentations, and training materials. Maintain up-to-date on commercial insurance and business-specific legislative and regulatory developments and facilitate business partner learning by developing and delivering training. Work on special projects as needed and may mentor other team members.
The candidate should have a Juris Doctor and Bar admission to the bar of at least one state. Should have 9 years of relevant legal experience with a proven track record of results. Prior in-house experience at a global insurance carrier supporting Risk Control and Multinational Business, is preferred. Senior-level, advanced knowledge of local laws, regulations and issues involving risk control solutions and delivery models. Advanced knowledge of issues involving multinational programs, DIC/DIL and local placements. Proven ability to take a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives in order to achieve strategic business results. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with and influence a broad spectrum of internal and external constituents. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to manage ambiguous situations. High proficiency in time management, leadership, influence, and project management skills. A proven track record of results achievement, collaboration, teamwork and negotiation skills.
