US Employment Law Attorney / Employment Compliance Leader Responsibilities: Work on all aspects of employment law compliance for our locations in the Americas. Advise and guide the internal business and Human Resources partners on legal requirements and risk, managing external legal counsel as needed. Follow the changes in the laws and regulations of the United States and other countries in our Americas Region (Argentina, Brazil, Canada and Mexico) that may impact Gore s business and help our business and Human Resources teams implement them. Conduct investigations, lead interactions with public authorities and manage legal disputes, often in coordination with external law firms. Provide leadership to our Employment Law Compliance Specialists globally. Work with the team to identify and prioritize the development of process and tools to manage employment law risk around the world, clarify and align on interfaces with Gore s global Human Resources organization, and develop the functional excellence of team members. Foster collaboration between regional employment law attorneys and compliance specialists and support the development of the compliance specialists within Gore s broader employment law team
Qualifications: Admitted to practice law in a US state where Gore has a presence. Should have 5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally within a multi-jurisdictional legal department or law firm. Experience in applying employment laws and regulations in a practical manner to assess risk and solve business problems. Experience leading people or work, contributing to team development and driving to efficient and effective outcomes. Familiarity with managing compliance challenges, disputes and litigation. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing employment law compliance processes and tools. Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize needs, handle ambiguity and quickly shift from one situation or task to another. Enthusiasm and legal creativity for employment law issues in an international environment, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset.
