Associate Privacy Counsel Duties: Partner with the marketing and analytics teams and advise on risks and opportunities in a variety of areas, including cookie compliance; retargeting; site tracking; online behavioral advertising; customer segmentation; email marketing. Assist with reviewing the development of internal and customer-facing products and tools and providing guidance on potential privacy law compliance risks and appropriate solutions. Assist with reviewing and providing support in negotiating data protection agreements and similar contracts as well as conduct data protection impact assessments. Provide legal input on new marketing campaigns and pricing and discounting strategies as well as other initiatives driven by the business that may have privacy and other legal implications (e.g., contests, sweepstakes, telemarketing). Advise on more complex data subject rights requests, such as for Do Not Sell, access, portability, erasure, and other requests. Support with review and maintenance of Terms and Conditions and privacy policies. Support with implementation of new Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) in new contracts and update all existing contracts to ensure compliance. Support for privacy compliance related internal processes and best practices and keeping on top of new privacy, e-privacy and consumer laws and developments. Developing resources and training to support Vista's global privacy law compliance mission, including compliance with the GDPR, CCPA and other privacy laws and regulations in the countries where Vista operates (both today and in the future as Vista's global footprint expands).
Qualifications: Master Degree or equivalent in law. 3+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm or global tech/e-commerce company with strong background in privacy and data protection, especially GDPR, CCPA and recent privacy legislation in other US states. Other language fluency is a plus. Outstanding collaborator and strong analytical problem-solving skills. Curiosity and a willingness to learn quickly, with a clear interest in privacy law and how technology and data impact individuals and businesses. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
