Senior Legal Counsel, Litigation and Law Enforcement Responsibilities: Case management, including assessing and quantifying liability, selecting and managing outside counsel, setting and managing budgets, reviewing and preparing pleadings and briefs, developing, communicating and implementing overall case strategy, managing discovery and communicating with stakeholders within the legal department and throughout the company. Analyzing, negotiating agreeable terms and overseeing compliance with subpoenas and another legal process. Field inquires and legal process from a variety of law enforcement sources, local, federal and international, balancing being a good corporate citizen with confidentiality obligations and expectations and creating win/win outcomes wherever possible. Provide thought leadership and share best practices on litigation and law enforcement response with our global legal team. Navigate competing workflows, set appropriate priorities with clients and deliver results within agreed timelines. Think creatively and devise solutions to challenging problems, including making and articulating determinations regarding risks and benefits.

Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school. Membership in good standing of any US or Canadian bar organization. Should have 4+ years of the relevant law firm or in-house experience with 2 years of focus on: issues surrounding litigation (focus on commercial real estate, commercial contracts or labor and employment disputes a plus); and response to law enforcement inquiries (experience with federal law enforcement a plus). Experience working in a culturally diverse and global company is a plus. Familiarity with data centers and the colocation, managed services and telecommunications industries is desired. Spanish language skills are preferred. Ability to understand internet architecture at a level sufficient to interface with experts and explain to stakeholders whether an IP address belongs to Equinix, its customers or a third party. Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
