Corporate Counsel Duties: Advising on ESG reporting strategy and approach under current and emerging regulations and integrated sustainability reporting requirements; Working with sustainability teams on ESG disclosure strategy and roadmap, and development and preparation of reporting; Advising on internal processes and practices to support ESG-related governance requirements and expectations; Counseling on current and emerging sustainability and ESG due diligence and reporting frameworks and policy engagement strategies; and Developing and implementing internal processes to meet third-party assurance and verification requirements. Providing advice to businesses to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements re sustainability and ESG reporting. Assessing regulations, supporting teams in building processes and mechanisms for ensuring compliance, influencing emerging regulations. Required Qualifications: J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar. 5+ years of legal experience as a licensed attorney, with experience in counseling companies on sustainability, ESG reporting and/or corporate, securities and governance matters Preferred Qualifications: A mix of law firm and in-house experience with large, multinational, complex companies advising on ESG and sustainability reporting; Experience working with regulators and public policy experts on proposed legislation and regulations; Hands-on project management experience, including excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize a large number of projects and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to partner with business stakeholders. Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity. Great business judgment, even in ambiguous situations. Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment. Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
