Litigation Counsel The candidate will handle general litigation, pre-litigation claims, and all related matters. Manage all aspects of litigation matters including e-discovery, fact-finding and analysis, witness preparation, depositions, case management conferences, motion practice, and arbitration or trial preparation and presentation. Supervise and partner with outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, including the day-to-day running of matters, overall strategy, written work, and oral advocacy. Identify potential litigation risks and counsel the business to minimize exposure. Support the company's strategy for litigations and pre-litigation disputes. Should have a Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school. Should be a member in good standing of the New York or California bar association or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in New York or California. Should have 5-10 years of litigation experience in private practice or a corporate litigation department with a highly regarded firm or organization. Preferred experience includes platform liability, antitrust, class action, arbitration, internal investigations, and/or government or regulatory investigations. Experience with IP litigation and privacy litigation would be nice-to-have. Substantive experience with legal issues related to consumer-facing technology required. Experience at or representing Internet technology and/or entertainment companies is strongly preferred. Must have the ability to research complex legal questions. Must have demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work as a team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders. Must have excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to craft persuasive and concise briefs.
