Associate General Counsel - Real Estate/contracts

Associate General Counsel - Real Estate/Contracts DUTIES: Provide legal counsel and guidance to management and to all corporate personnel on matters involving legal issues. Assist the Deputy General Counsel in the delivery of legal services. Responsible for special projects as assigned by Deputy General Counsel. Handle and coordinate with clients and other lawyers a broad range of activities and functions to ensure effective operations and the achievement of organization objectives in accordance with policies. Identify potential legal issues related to business practices and policies and advise client/management. Review and interpret legislation and regulations. Provide oversight and financial management of outside counsel in accordance with Law department guidelines.

Qualifications: Juris Doctor from accredited law school and admission to and current good standing in a state or the District of Columbia bar. Should have 7 years of professional legal experience providing legal advice and guidance on commercial or real estate matters in a corporate, governmental, or law firm environment. Knowledge and experience in governmental contracting at the state or federal level. Experience demonstrating skill in budget development, analysis, and monitoring functional areas. Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and administering internal corporate programs. Demonstrated ability to apply legal and risk analysis to factual circumstances and exercise sound judgment. Demonstrated ability to both convey clear and accurate legal advice and be solution-oriented to assist clients in achieving business objectives.
