Contracts & Legal Operations Counsel The candidate will review, draft, negotiate and finalize a variety of supplier, partner and customer agreements, including those for advertising, media, SaaS and other software and technology. Manage the structure and execution of our contracts management system, including the contracts approval process and contract management system. Work with other departments to continuously improve our processes. Supervise, mentor and/or support junior attorney and paraprofessional staff in contracts and legal operations, serving as an escalation and consultation point for significant issues. Assist with the growth of legal operations functions, including contract management, task management, and other areas. Work with the enterprise team on deploying enterprise software that either directly supports or touches on the legal team. Provide legal advice to stakeholders regarding applicable laws, regulations and policies and general legal risk. Oversee, organize and improve the company's form agreements and policies. Assist with the resolution of customer disputes. The candidate should have a JD from an accredited US law school (or international equivalent) and a member of the bar in any US jurisdiction with the ability to practice in-house in Maryland. Should have 8+ years of legal experience post-qualification, which includes 4+ years of experience in an in-house contracts role, including demonstrable experience with the majority of Responsibilities listed above. Experience in a legal operations role would be a significant plus. Experience with a marketplace, eCommerce or advertising business is a plus. Strong and effective document drafting and negotiating skills with excellent oral and written communication skills. A growth-oriented mindset that shows curiosity and an eagerness to learn. Strong collaboration skills both within and across teams. Exceptionally organized and detail-minded with an ability to manage multiple projects on aggressive deadlines. Fluency in a foreign language, particularly Spanish, is a plus. Experience with negotiating real estate leases is a plus, as is experienced with litigation and dispute management.
