Associate General Counsel, Real Estate Duties: Structuring, drafting, negotiating, and counseling on a broad range of contract transactions for the Company's net lease portfolio and real estate credit business including, managing legal aspects of real estate purchase, sale, leasing, and lending transactions. Interfacing with and providing legal advice to investments, portfolio oversight, property management, leasing, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance staff as necessary with respect to net lease portfolio and real estate credit business. Actively managing internal legal resources and outside counsel relationships. Managing and resolving property-level legal issues, including landlord/tenant disputes, REA and loan compliance, condemnations, and third-party litigation. Overseeing outside counsel. Overseeing paralegals and administrative staff in the formation, maintenance, and dissolutions of entities and their assistance with purchase and sale transactions and financings. Overseeing and supervising paralegals and administrative staff including, but not limited to assigning work, providing performance feedback and coaching, monitoring work schedule, assisting in determining work priorities, and providing training as necessary. Review and negotiate corporate level agreements and provide legal counsel on the same. Working on corporate and fund-level projects as directed by the Chief Legal Officer or General Counsel-Public Funds. Legal support as needed for a variety of business initiatives of the Company and its funds.

Qualifications: Juris Doctorate, and 5+ years of experience in the Real Estate Department of a medium to a large law firm or other relevant in-house experience. Licensed to practice law in California or Arizona. Ability to effectively present information to CIM Principals and employees. Ability to liaison with outside counsel. Ability to effectively respond to inquiries from outside counsel, as well as CIM Principals and employees. Ability to negotiate and correspond with third parties in connection with contractual matters and disputes. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and/or reports. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical materials, financial reports, and/or legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to conduct independent analyses to solve practical problems. Ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions. Microsoft Word. Westlaw or another legal search engine. Experience with document storage programs such as Sharepoint.
