Chief Intellectual Property Counsel Duties: Strategic business leader advising and guiding the company on all intellectual property matters for a global business, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, licensing, confidentiality agreements, enforcement, freedom to operate assessments, joint development agreements, etc. Serve as the key point of contact on IP matters for business teams, including research and development, technology, strategic marketing, sales, finance, procurement, and business development. Provide legal and seasoned commercial advice to accelerate the company's innovation engine. Drive thought leadership on sustainable solutions and attributes for our products. Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms for a broad variety of agreements. Supervise and train small team of experienced intellectual property managers. Manage relationships with numerous external law firms and agents worldwide. Support diligence activity for corporate transactions. Develop and provide IP training across the organization both online and in?person. Assist with various projects, as requested.

Qualifications: Member of the Delaware Bar or ability to qualify for an in?house certificate. Should have 10+ years of relevant experience as an IP lawyer and leader. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong critical thinking and problem?solving skills. Team?oriented, strong collaborator, ability to develop and maintain close working relationships both internally and externally, confident in dealing with senior leaders. Preferred Qualifications: Scientific degree or technical expertise in a relevant field, such as chemical engineering. Registered to practice before the USPTO. Multiple years working in?house for a multi?national corporation. Litigation experience a plus, especially in non?US jurisdictions. Experience with core Microsoft suite of products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
