Environmental Attorney Responsibilities: Strong collaboration with global, cross-divisional and cross-disciplinary teams, such as Product and Chemical Stewardship Team, Environmental Health and Safety Team, Fluoromaterials Stewardship Team, Enterprise and Divisional Sustainability Teams, Compliance, and our Government Affairs Associates. Support developing sustainability, stewardship, regulatory and risk mitigation strategies for our manufacturing operations in Maryland, Arizona, and California as well as global businesses.Provide legal advice to internal clients, aligned with business objectives, which help navigate the regulatory requirements associated with operating global businesses. Develop and deliver training for Associates on legal issues, compliance policies and applicable ethical codes of conduct. Work within the Legal Regulatory Subject Matter Group and with other legal and functional teams to develop and improve tools and processes for the delivery of legal and regulatory services. Assist or lead investigations and resolving reports of alleged regulatory non-compliance; advise on the development and implementation of appropriate corrective action plans. Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.

Qualifications: Completed law degree, admitted to practice law as necessary to fulfil the role with 5 years, ideally 7 or more years, of relevant legal experience. Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. federal environmental law, including but not limited to OSHA, TSCA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, SDWA, EPCRA, CERCLA, and relevant state equivalents. Demonstrated experiences in regulatory advocacy or negotiation with agencies, such as the EPA and state departments of environmental protection or occupational safety and health experience in Maryland or Arizona a plus. Familiarity with Government Affairs compliance processes for lobbying, campaign finance and ethics and experience understanding and analyzing proposed legislation and complicated political and business-related issues. Demonstrated ability to apply legal knowledge and judgment to business clients, which may include experience in or demonstrated aptitude for in-house counseling, e.g. triage and issue spot quickly and competently across multiple legal areas, communicate complex legal challenges clearly to business leaders, help inform and advise in a practical manner to help resolve business need. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply environmental health & safety, and other regulatory laws in a practical manner to solve business problems. Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills. Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/projects. Strong advocacy and influencing skills, including the ability to help bring people with diverse positions to a common view. The ability to navigate in a dynamic, cross-functional, multi-cultural and multi-national environment with both local and remote teams with quickly changing priorities and multiple tasks. The ability to travel up to 20% primarily in the United States, subject to potential increase in domestic travel depending on office location; global travel may be required occasionally. Desired Qualifications: Scientific or Technical degree or experience, including familiarity with fluoro material chemistry or emerging regulation of PFAS. Product stewardship or Sustainability experience. Familiarity with international environmental regulations and treaties, e.g. EU REACH, Basel Convention, Stockholm Convention on POPs, and Montreal Protocol.
