Senior Counsel- Consumer and Small Business Banking The candidate will lead planning and implementation of Department directed initiatives and deliverables focused on law firm management. Lead planning and implementation of Department directed strategic initiatives. Partner with Division attorneys and legal professionals on the development of quarterly business reviews. Serve as the primary liaison with the Department's finance team on the Consumer Divisions annual budgets and provide detailed analytics as required. Serve as the primary liaison with the Department's Talent & Leader Development stakeholders on a variety of initiatives focused on employee career development. Educate and train Divisions attorneys and legal professionals on newly launched Department or Division initiatives as required. Collaborate with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. Lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced staff. Provide guidance to internal clients on legal matters to assist with legal risk assessment, planning and policy decisions, claims against the Company, and develop cost-effective risk mitigation strategies. Independently resolve moderately complex issues and meet deliverables. Work directly with Department stakeholders and develop an in-depth understanding of Department activities and Consumer business activities/products. Partner with Consumer Divisions leaders and management of other Legal Divisions to develop and implement risk management programs. Should have 4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States. Experience as a practicing attorney in a large organization. Experience analyzing legal and regulatory issues in the area of practice and providing effective counsel to clients on complex legal matters. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration. Effective in building partnerships. Project management skills.
