Senior Counsel, Privacy Responsibilities: Develop short-term and long-term strategic plan(s) for privacy program(s) across multiple jurisdictions. Identify priorities along a multi-year journey and develop a framework for communication and management. Lead the privacy steering committee, including provide oversight of regional sub-committees. Work with key internal stakeholders in the review of new products, regulations, strategic initiatives, third party service providers, and technology to ensure compliance with data privacy laws and advise on privacy impact assessments. Oversees the development of training programs for privacy related issues. Monitor changes to global data privacy laws and make recommendations to the business as appropriate. Collaborate with Information Security and business partners to maintain records of all data privacy elements, processing of data privacy elements, assist in maintaining a data security incident management plan in accordance with data privacy regulations to ensure timely remediation of incidents, breaches, complaints, in addition to responding to data subject requests. Manage data subject access request process and fulfillment, in conjunction with various lines of business. Create and maintain forms of DPAs and other privacy-related agreements and documentation, including supporting divisional counsel and procurement team with DPA negotiations. Conduct privacy assessments related to third parties, products and internal data processing activities. Maintain privacy and data governance policies, consistent with current legal requirements. Support security team on assessments, audits and related matters.

Qualifications: Completion of a law degree. Admitted to the state bar and in good standing. CIPP preferred. Should have 7+ years of experience in compliance or related disciplines (includes data privacy, compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, IT systems security). Must have 4+ of those years should be focused on data privacy. Experience with global privacy laws, including U.S., EU, and Canada. Experience designing privacy programs, policies, and processes. Knowledge and experience with Payment Processing and related industries preferred. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with non-lawyers across the company to build out and manage frameworks and processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable with technology and relevant technology terminology. Ability to set, drive strategy, and provide guidance to a broad array of stakeholders.
