Compliance and Fair Lending Counsel Duties: Offer legal advice and expertise in regulatory compliance issues affecting the Company. Research and analyze for necessary additions or changes to company policies and procedures, to ensure they are in compliance with applicable state and Federal laws and regulations. Assess fair lending risks by preparing fair lending risk assessments of the Company and applicable business units. Develop written reports and advise Executive Management concerning any key fair lending issues. Effectively collaborate with business partners in Production, Technology, Operations, Data Management, Legal & Compliance, Internal Audit and Marketing functions to ensure effective and timely execution and management of fair lending policy. Assess and develop fair lending training to meet individual business unit and corporate requirements, including general awareness and role-based training as needed. Partner with Senior Management and leadership to formulate and execute remedial steps or measures to mitigate any identified Fair Lending compliance risks. Support regulatory exams, audits, and litigation requests as needed. Extended and weekend work hours may be required.
Qualifications: Law degree. Should have 5-7 years of related experience. Experience with fair lending software, including familiarity with and ability to interpret statistics-based results generated through analysis of HMDA data. Experience with NContracts TruPoint is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Google Workspace. Subject matter expertise for the areas of Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Truth in Lending and Fair Credit Reporting Act, state CRA programs as they are applicable to Cardinal. Familiarity with compliance programs, including risk assessments, testing and monitoring, training, policy/procedure development, and implementation of new products and business processes. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
