Senior Counsel, Global Zoning, Land Use and Licensing Attorney Duties: Each Lucid retail and service location requires compliance with vehicle sales licensing, zoning, construction permitting, and operational licensing requirements. Manage internal personnel, outside counsel, and outside consultants as a pre-development team to ensure that all of the requirements above are met or addressed with minimal business impact prior to turnover of the real estate to operations teams. Work with outside and local counsel to review and analyze zoning, land use, permitting and licensing requirements. Oversee and assist with land use and zoning applications and hearings where change of zoning or use permits are required. Address site development related legal topics including but not limited to surveys, title reports, property condition reports, environmental property assessments and other due diligence. Manage and resolve various legal matters that are presented to the Real Estate and Construction Legal team. Collaborate with members of the legal team to complete legal projects and initiatives that may or may not be related the Counsel role..

Qualifications: Law degree (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution. Licensed to practice law in California. Should have 5+ years of experience in legal practice with in-house experience and/or private practice specifically related to land use, zoning and/or licensing. Experience working with municipalities, utilities, and various regulatory agencies on zoning, compliance, and permitting. Experience with real estate acquisition due diligence. General real estate and international experience desired. Excellent organizational and planning skills with the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under strict deadlines and pressure. The ability to form a strong working relationship with employees and partners while maintaining firm adherence to legal standards. Comfort with navigating interrelated international, federal, state, and local land use and licensing laws and regulations, general and specific plans, conditional uses and variances, and zoning.
