Assistant General Counsel, Labor and Employment (Litigation and Counseling) The candidate will draft and negotiate employment and broker agreements (including offer letters and separation agreements), working in partnership with internal stakeholders to streamline review process. Support Americas HR in compliance with state and federal employment laws and workforce objectives, especially as they relate to employee benefits, compensation, rewards, worker classification, and wage & hour. Provide legal counseling on matters related to union relations, performance management, reductions in force, talent acquisition, leaves of absence and accommodations, and EEO/affirmative action. Review and update Americas compensation guidelines, summary plan descriptions and severance programs employment policies and plans, including employee handbooks, and bonus plans. Respond to attorney demands and manage outside counsel on L&E litigation matters as directed by the Assistant General Counsel. Train and advise HR on recent developments in employment laws. Perform other related duties as required or requested.

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and a member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar. Should have 7+ years of labor and employment experience; at least 3 years of which obtained at a major law firm and at least 2 years of which obtained at a major corporation. Excellent business judgment with the ability to provide sound legal advice which reflects an understanding of Cushman's overall business objectives. Ability to effectively manage outside counsel and collaborate with internal teams. Knowledge of California employment law is a preferred, but not required. Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate and satisfy numerous competing demands. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and integrity. Self-motivated and able to complete matters without supervision; must be able to work. independently and be execution-oriented. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
