Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal, AWS Legal The candidate will support AWS's public sector sales team, negotiating, drafting and advising on a wide range of procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters with a primary focus on the delivery of AWS Professional Services to government entities. Typical transactions range from standard contracts to complex, framework agreements, and responses to requests for proposals and quotes. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Compensation will be based on experience and includes equity compensation. In this role, you will work directly with the business, providing day-to-day advice for senior executives and other business members on government contracting issues, resolving queries that arise in existing relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. The successful candidate will be proactive, entrepreneurial, enjoy being challenged, have strong written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations. J.D. and admitted to at least one state bar. Must have 5+ years of public sector legal experience or experience with customers and transactions involving regulated industries like healthcare or telecommunications. Experience in-house at a technology company, law firm, or government agency advising clients in the government contracting or technology industry. Experience engaging with U.S. government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, and resellers. Experience advising on professional services or consulting services agreements. Knowledge of government procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations.
