Intellectual Property Counsel AVP Duties: Providing strategic advisor to the bank's businesses on all related IP matters. Leading on trademark, copyright, rights of publicity, and associated issues for the Americas. Engaging in patent and trade secrets matters for the Americas; including prosecution (via outside counsel); licensing; transactional support; and contentious matters. Supporting Group Innovation functions in the development and implementation of a program focused on the discovery and protection of valuable innovation. Providing expertise on emerging IP risks as they apply to the Bank. Leading and advising on IP aspects of various strategic projects. Helping oversee the Bank's IP Legal Risk Policy, including reporting breaches and assisting with remediation activities. Instructing and managing the Bank's relationship with external counsel; including review of substantive advice as well as management of budgeting and invoicing.
Required Qualifications: Admitted to practice law in NJ or eligible to be admitted as in-house counsel. Experience advising on a broad range of trademark and copyright matters. Solid familiarity with patent law, trade secrets law, and rights of publicity law. Ability and willingness to tackle new areas of law and legal practice without prior experience. Preferred Qualifications: Interest in technology, privacy, cybersecurity, or digital assets. Experience with contentious, transactional, and portfolio management practice. Familiarity with UK, European, or other international IP law. Understanding of the financial services industry.
