Regulatory Compliance Attorney The candidate will be responsible for providing legal support in regulatory and compliance matters on a broad spectrum of issues that arise under state and federal insurance or related laws, with an emphasis on the regulation of Property and Casualty insurance and insurance contracts. Will be responsible for regulatory compliance in varying states. Provides practical, business-oriented legal advice to the company to meet business objectives through an in-depth understanding of the evolving applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Review and monitor legislative, regulatory, and other mandated changes and provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks and compliance impact on the business. Provide oral and written communication regarding compliance or legal issues to various departments and levels of management as well as state departments of insurance and outside legal counsel. Research relevant laws, regulations, and case law to interpret and draft policy contract forms, endorsements, and applications needed to support new and existing products. Conduct routine audits of products and/or procedures to ensure continuous compliance. Work with the Director of Regulatory Compliance to develop and maintain processes and procedures to facilitate the timely and accurate execution of all types of product enhancements. Work with the Director of Regulatory Compliance in overseeing market conduct exams, financial exams, and other regulatory actions and/or inquiries. Draft and maintain company policies and plans. Compile information and maintains relevant records related to quality improvement and compliance monitoring activities for internal use and external audits. Ensure that product programs follow state regulations. Provide advice and guidance to all business units as to best practices and current system functionality as well as provide guidance and advice for enhancements or changes. Perform all other duties assigned by Management.

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Must be licensed to practice law in Florida and a member in good standing. Should have 5+ years of professional work experience practicing law in insurance regulation. Should have 5+ years of experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry. Must have the ability to understand and interpret insurance laws, regulations, industry guidelines, statutes, administrative regulations, and precedents. Experience with drafting policy contracts and form development is essential. Should have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (intermediate excel skills are a must).
