Associate Counsel - Contracts The candidate will negotiate and draft a variety of agreements for customers, including procurement, sales, renewable energy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, consulting, services, software and technology agreements. Find creative solutions that meet both Vistra and its clients business and compliance needs and ensure that contracts comply with Vistra policies, business practices, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with stakeholders and subject matter experts, including information security, compliance, sales, marketing, and insurance to help drive transactions to successful completion within the required time frames. Enforce contracting policies, including approvals for non-standard terms and pricing, assisting sales teams with on-going negotiations of client contracts, advising management on contractual terms and risks, and providing training to sales and other departments on contract issues and negotiation strategies. Support ongoing improvements to long-term projects on contract management and administration.? Bachelor's Degree, J.D., Texas law license (or other state license and willingness to become licensed in Texas). May be a new or recent law school graduate or have up to 4 years of legal experience, with energy experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Effective negotiation skills and experience. Broad based understanding of general business practices. Strong problem-solving abilities.
