Senior Managing Counsel, Privacy & Data Protection

Senior Managing Counsel, Privacy and Data Protection Duties: The candidate will develop a framework establishing data-driven legal, compliance, organizational and technical requirements to expand a vision for value-added services beyond payments. Provide privacy and data protection advice on technical infrastructure controls based on a solid Privacy-by-Design approach (e.g. Privacy Enhancing Technologies, data ringfencing) and support various products and functions in their implementation. Serve as the primary point of contact and drive alignment across business functions on all privacy and data protection matters. Perform privacy impact assessments in line with's privacy and data protection policies and processes. Partner with C&I to strategically position its vision to expand value-added services toward customers and partners from a privacy and data law perspective. Identify business requirements stemming from new and evolving privacy laws and regulations and provide thought leadership in engaging with key policy makers, regulators, and other stakeholders on those developments. Lead the creation of data-driven contractual structures to support robust and effective data management between customers, partners, and vendors; work with C&I, Franchise, and legal to ensure smooth customer onboarding. Increase awareness among all product and other functions regarding privacy and data protection requirements relating to a network of value-added services through company-wide training and other initiatives. Qualifications: The candidate should have a Law degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to and in good standing with at least one bar (as appropriate/required). Any additional qualifications (e.g. Master of Laws degree) are considered an asset. Solid expertise in and track record dealing with global privacy and data protection legal frameworks (e.g. GDPR, CCPA). Former experience in dealing with competition law matters pertaining to the use of data Experience in the financial services industry and technology solutions. Strong analytic capabilities and written and oral communication skills. A strategic mindset, business acumen, and a ?can-do attitude are a must. Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven experience in relationship building, partnering, and coaching. Ability to motivate and influence highly skilled professionals to achieve major organizational goals.
