Senior Counsel, Labor, Employment and Administrative Law Duties: Representing the Authority's interests in labor arbitrations and in matters before state and federal administrative agencies. Some litigation work in court may be required. Providing legal assistance to Human Resources and various departments on labor and employment matters. Serving as a resource for and providing legal assistance to the Authority's Office of Equal Opportunity. Providing legal support, as well as advice and counsel, to various departments within the Authority and to the Board of Trustees. Drafting and reviewing Board resolutions. Handling public records requests and subpoenas. Conducting legal research and preparing legal opinions on public sector legal issues, including but not limited to, public transit and statutory compliance with federal, state and local laws. Conferring with state and federal agencies for guidance and monitoring federal, state and local legislation affecting GCRTA.

Qualifications: Must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a license to practice law in the State of Ohio. Must also be in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court. Should have 8 years of relevant legal experience. Must have 3 years of professional supervisory experience preferred, either through a professional work environment or through completion of supervisory training/education. Must also have strong writing, research, and oral communication skills, with experience using Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Groupwise or similar email communication, and the internet. Applicants must also have intermediate knowledge of and skill in using Westlaw and/or Lexis software.
