Associate Corporate Counsel The candidate will draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts including non-disclosure, independent contractor, purchasing, and sales agreements. Conduct research and present findings and recommendations. Supervise external counsel. Interact with global legal and business colleagues on multi-jurisdictional transactions and initiatives. Support the company's legal staff on busy and complex transactions. Provide practical, timely, and accurate legal advice. Work closely and effectively with General Counsel, other company legal staff, and employees of all levels and cultures within a global organization. Exhibit good judgment, decision-making, research, scientific, and communication skills. Provide training on legal issues. Follow company processes and guidelines. Perform the Essential Functions listed below. Perform other responsibilities as required.
The candidate should have a J.D from an accredited law school, admission to State Bar, and ability to practice law in Oregon. Should have 1-4 years of experience practicing law in a law firm, corporate law department, or government entity. Client service orientation. Solid negotiating, drafting, organization, and communication skills. Ability to excel and be a good teammate in a innovative and complex work environment. Comfort with ambiguity. Ability to evaluate problems and apply legal principles, facts and precedents to recommend adoption of an effective, practical and proper course of action. Flexibility with travel based on company needs and milestones. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal and contracting software programs. Effectively and accurately communicate legal concepts with outside lawyers, company lawyers, customers, and internal clients. Effectively and accurately assist the General Counsel and company lawyers with contracts. Effectively and accurately draft, review, and negotiate contracts.
