Reinsurance Litigation Counsel

Reinsurance Litigation Counsel The candidate will manage reinsurance arbitrations and litigation at the trial and appellate court levels involving the Company. This includes pre-dispute counseling; selection and supervision of outside counsel; review and edit of all pleadings, motions and other papers; coordination of discovery responses; preparation of Company witnesses for deposition and trial testimony; active participation in hearings, trials and moot court sessions. Coordinate dispute and litigation management with internal business partners to ensure consistency with business strategies. Communicate with the senior management team on matters of significance. Identify litigation trends and counsel business clients and other legal staff regarding opportunities to address those trends. Should have 5-7 years of litigation experience with a law firm and/or insurance company. Substantial experience drafting and editing briefs and memoranda. Excellent analytical and communication skills. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school. Licensed to practice law in the U.S. Undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. or foreign university or college.
