Lead Counsel I, Labor and Employment The candidate will support the business in U.S. traditional labor law, including providing labor and employment law guidance to business partners in various areas of U.S. business. Develop strategies to respond to clients' labor law issues and counsel clients regarding legal compliance. Identify the need for and direct training. Develop and foster relationships as business partners with client by understanding the business goals and objectives, and providing business-related input. Provide legal advice to the company by providing clients with an informed understanding of the client's legal rights, obligations, and risks to allow the client to make informed decisions. Identify the need for and oversee outside legal support for business transactions and projects. Leverage technology to streamline processes, communication, and workflows.

The candidate should have a law degree from an accredited law school and 6 years of experience in law. Should have 2 years of experience leading cross-functional teams. A license to practice law in at least one state is preferred. Comprehensive experience with all aspects of U.S. traditional labor laws and counseling the business on labor matters. A subject matter expert in employment law. Substantial, diverse legal experience (ex. combination of in-house, government, leading law firm, etc.). Work proactively and leverage preventative measures in the spirit of protecting stakeholders, customers, and employees. Effective communication skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders. Experienced working across tight deadlines, and managing multiple projects.
