Assistant Disciplinary Counsel - Litigation Duties: Responsible for reviewing and evaluating disciplinary investigations, seeking authority for and pursuing formal proceedings, pursuing negotiated resolutions where appropriate, and recommending appropriate outcomes to the State Professional Responsibility Board (SPRB). Gathers documents, interviews witnesses, conducts legal research, and analyzes facts and law. Represents the bar in formal disciplinary proceedings authorized by rule and/or the SPRB through trial or settlement. Maintains high-volume caseload in a timely and professional manner, working independently or in consultation with others on staff as needed. Provides input to Disciplinary Counsel on matters of policy, rulemaking, budget, and office organization. Serves as a public speaker in CLE seminars or other forums dealing with discipline and legal ethics. Models behavior and practices that value diversity and incorporates inclusive and culturally competent practices.

Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university and from an accredited law school. Active membership in the OSB. 5 years of law practice with emphasis on civil litigation. First chair civil litigation trial experience preferred. Knowledge of the Microsoft O365 Office Suite in a Microsoft Windows environment with particular emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to become familiar with OSB-specific programs and software. Ability to type 40 WPM with accuracy. Demonstrated knowledge of legal analysis, legal research, and writing. Effective and productive use of time management practices, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced, detail-driven, service-oriented environment. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills using in-person and virtual formats. Demonstrated ability to speak publically making presentations before groups ranging in size. Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated ability to listen to understand and manage difficult conversations. Self-motivation skills requiring minimal supervision with ability to balance independent and team-oriented work. Ability to be flexible, agile, and resilient in addressing expected and unexpected situations. Ability to exercise sound judgment in keeping with the policies and objectives of the Disciplinary Counsel's Office and ***. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and provide a high level of customer service for a potentially demanding customer base in a variety of situations and with various interest groups or individuals with conflicting and competing needs, desires, and demands. Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a detail- oriented environment. Commitment to the concept of teamwork and cross-responsibility within a department. Ability to communicate in person, in writing, by email, by telephone, and other communication media, e.g., video conferencing. Ability to operate a computer for long periods. Ability to remain on the telephone for long periods. Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods. Ability to manipulate data for program purposes and typing. Ability to make presentations before groups ranging in size.
