Senior Privacy Counsel Duties: Provide advice and support on all aspects of compliance with privacy laws and regulations across IHG in the US and globally. Lead privacy legal support for key functions initially including sales & marketing, loyalty, digital, commercial, data analytics, technology and info security teams across globally. Support the development, implementation, monitoring and review of global privacy program including PIA processes and other elements of privacy framework. Advise on global privacy and related compliance matters across the group. Conduct privacy assessments for new marketing, technology and other initiatives and identify ways to meet company commercial objectives in alignment with privacy requirements. Drafting and negotiating complex documentation such as data transfer agreements, PIAs, data processing agreements, privacy notices and disclosures. Provide privacy support to Information Security team including privacy assessment of incidents. Manage external privacy counsel and other privacy budgets. Experience providing practical advice on data use and privacy issues. Monitoring new privacy laws and requirements, assessing impact to and advising on implementation. Work closely with cross functional teams, including information governance and procurement, to provide relevant privacy input
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and a Juris Doctor Degree. Member of the Georgia State Bar in good standing. 5-8 years as a practicing attorney. Experience either working in or advising multi-national companies. Experience of developing and administering global privacy programs in international groups. Extensive data privacy experience and knowledge of privacy laws including CCPA, state privacy laws, FTC rules, TCPA, GDPR, and other global privacy laws and regulations. Experience providing practical advice to clients on data use and privacy issues. Excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to interact well and build excellent working relationships with all levels of management. Strong understanding and interest in technologies and solutions used in the collection, storage, transfer and analysis of data. Understanding of online advertising, including underlying tracking technologies and the digital advertising ecosystem and related compliance requirements. Understanding of cybersecurity requirements. CIPP certification preferred.
