Contracts Attorney The candidate will advise business stakeholders on a variety of initiatives, projects, and complex contractual relationships through the various stages of the contracting process, from strategy/planning and RFP through execution and implementation. Prepare, draft, review, negotiate, and interpret contracts, ensuring business needs and priorities are met while minimizing potential risks. Provide general legal advice regarding the company's transactions and related activities. Maintain and regularly communicate ongoing project prioritization with supervisors, team members, and business stakeholders. Comply with and help administer/enforce the company's existing contract processes and procedures, including recommending and implementing changes and improvements. Participate in and assist with the resolution of contract or transaction-related disputes and claims. Additional duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required. A Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier law school and licensed to practice law in California. Should have 2-3 years of relevant contracts/transactional experience in a law firm or in-house role with an established company, preferably in the retail or information technology industry. Familiarity with business and consumer litigation. Multi-state experience is a plus. Analytical/critical thinking regarding contracts and business deals; exercises sound judgment. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills; able to develop solutions and compromises when faced with complex problems or difficult positions. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company (including senior management) and with external vendors and legal counsel. Ability to work collaboratively and independently, without close supervision, and with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. Ability to take direction and resolve issues independently. Good interpersonal skills are sufficient to collaborate with peers and third-party vendors. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-volume and fast-paced environment, while managing multiple conflicting priorities. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office application suite, especially with Word and Excel.
