Trade Compliance Manager/counsel

Trade Compliance Manager/Counsel The candidate will provide ongoing advice and counsel to domestic and international business units on matters relating to import and export compliance. Develop yearly audit calendar and conduct annual trade compliance audits of domestic and international business units. Assist business units with the remediation of audit findings through policy and process improvement. Develop and maintain risk assessments for IDEX business units and engage in macro-level risk analysis on an ongoing basis. Develop and present training on topical issues pertaining to import and export compliance. Assist business units in responding to government requests for information and/or government audit requests. Assist with the compliance onboarding and integration of new acquisitions. Train and develop personnel at the business unit level in all areas of trade compliance. Develop relationships in the field and foster a sense of community within the IDEX trade compliance community. Support the broader Legal and Compliance Department with new programs and initiatives. Support the annual Code of Conduct training. Monitor the industry landscape to keep visibility on evolutions, trends, and best practices related to global trade compliance.

The candidate should have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or a licensed customs broker license preferred. Associate and/or bachelor's degree, IIEI International Trade Certification, or equivalent experience in import/export field required. Should have 5-7 years of work experience either at a multinational company, global law firm, or U.S. federal agency. Expertise in all areas of trade compliance, including tariff classification, customs valuation, Country of Origin determination, trade relief programs, denied party screening, commodity jurisdiction and export classification, export license management, and the management of export licenses. Knowledge of embargoes and sanctions, especially U.S. Dept. of Commerce and Treasury programs. Knowledge of controlled products, including International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (
