Employment Counsel, Director The candidate will partner with and advise HR colleagues by providing timely and practical advice on a wide variety of employment, contractual, labor, benefits, performance management, leaves, non-solicitation, non-competition, restrictive covenant, termination, and classification matters. Advise on new hire offer contracts, including executive employment agreements. Partner with HR and outside immigration counsel to manage visa and other immigration matters. Provide legal advice to HR and other internal stakeholders on employment-related policies, processes, and templates to reflect applicable laws and regulations. As a member of the Legal Division Litigation and Employment Team, will provide legal support on employment litigation and investigation matters (including leading internal investigations) and potentially on non-employment related litigation and investigation matters. Provide advice to streamline employment processes and practices while remaining compliant with applicable law. Ensure compliance with employment laws, and proactively prepare to comply with changes in all aspects of the employment life cycle. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the manager. The candidate should have 3-7 years of experience working as an in-house employment lawyer or at a law firm. Law degree from an accredited law school in the United States. Member in good standing of a State Bar (NY Bar preferred). Detail-oriented and collaborative team player. Strategic thinker, capable of developing creative and practical legal and business solutions. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Capable of completing work independently. Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
