Corporate Counsel: Transactions and Product The candidate will review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of transactional documents and contractual arrangements. Support the sales pipeline by negotiating customer agreements to comply with company policies and risk tolerance. Will support and advise business, operations, engineering, finance, and sales teams on a wide variety of matters, including transactional matters, operational and regulatory issues, and technology development. Communicate legal concepts to non-legal individuals in a usable and understandable manner. Collaborate with legal colleagues and subject matter experts to advise business clients on legal issues and risks, approval processes, company policies and procedures, intellectual property and business strategy, and data privacy issues. Interpret and advise on laws and rules that affect Jack Henry, such as data privacy laws, consumer protection laws, federal and state money transmission and banking regulations, and NACHA rules. Support the improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes, approaches, and playbooks. Be a reliable teammate willing to help others and adapt well when there is ambiguity. May perform other job duties as assigned.
The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate degree and admit to, and in good standing with, a State Bar. Must have 5 years of experience in legal practice. Experience in the financial services, fintech, payments and/or technology industries is required. Experience as in-house or outside counsel for a fintech, financial institution, or financial services or payments platform focusing on transactional and product counsel-related matters is preferred. Sound judgment, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent time management plus.
