About the team and position is looking for an enthusiastic and talented real estate attorney with commercial transactional and/or portfolio management experience to join our team. This role will be an integral part of an ambitious and results-oriented team, which is currently focused on improving the utilization and management of a robust and dynamic real estate portfolio that contains a wide array of assets throughout the country, including Vending Machines, delivery hubs, inspection and reconditioning centers. The Associate Counsel supports the Real Estate Portfolio Management and Legal team in all aspects of the commercial real estate life cycle for's owned, leased and financed assets, including those we may be developing or already operating. What you ll be doing Support's real estate initiatives in assigned projects or asset classes, in real estate acquisition, disposition, leasing, finance and management initiatives. Work with a wide array of team members and stakeholders from the Legal Department, Real Estate Department, Portfolio Management, Insurance, Accounting and other cross-functional business teams that collaborate in's efforts to maintain and scale our real estate portfolio. Experience managing or supporting lease abstracting, lease amendments / renewals / terminations, and site expansion or consolidation initiatives. Contract drafting and negotiation, particularly leases, purchase agreements, license agreements and collateral docs (amendments, terminations, easements, etc.) as needed to grow and maintain a robust national real estate portfolio. Have flexibility and capability to jump into real estate acquisition and diligence efforts, dispositions, subleases, closings, finance initiatives and other efforts which will continue to evolve in connection with evolving real estate portfolio initiatives. Assist the Real Estate Department in negotiating various vendor agreements with contractors, brokers, and other service providers. Ensure timely and relevant information is relayed to manager and other stakeholders in a manner that facilitates efficient and well-informed strategic decisions, acting with a bias toward action and efficiency. What you should know A Bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution. A Juris Doctor degree from a top-tier law school with 2-5 years of directly relevant commercial real estate legal or property management and lease administration experience (law firm or in-house). Proficiency and confidence in one or more of the following: contract negotiation, diligence and closings; lease administration; portfolio management. Membership in good standing with a United States State Bar. Exceptional organizational, communication and time-prioritization skills. Ability to lead and support an array of projects with a broad scope of responsibilities including advising, drafting, negotiation, analysis and issue resolution. Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate independent initiative, while quickly pivoting toward more collaborative workstreams where necessary. Ability to differentiate between theoretical and real-world considerations in a fast-paced dynamic real estate department that requires a balance between critical thinking and efficient decision-making. Enthusiasm and energy reflective of your ability to be a self-starter and own projects, while being receptive to continued learning and growth, ready to follow an already-established process & approach where applicable. A diligent yet efficient approach to supporting our efforts to manage a robust real estate portfolio with a diverse array of assets.
