# Employment Counsel Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is looking for an experienced Employment Counsel to join our team. This role has been designated as Edge, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office. As an Employment Counsel, you will act as a legal advisor to assigned internal clients or other company attorneys with respect to matters related to the area of specialty. You will identify legal risk and recommend solutions that help address the client's objectives. ## Job Responsibilities * Provide standard legal advice impacting client decisions within a specific legal concentration. * Develop risk profiles addressing routine specialty law. * Refine and build knowledge from a variety of resources, working towards becoming an expert within a specific legal concentration. * Analyze and resolve a variety of standard legal issues within a specialty area. ## Education and Experience Requirements * Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB). * Meets local legal license requirements. * Typically 2-4 years commercial legal experience at a law firm or in-house. * Intermediate level of experience in the application of specialty law fundamentals to actual client matters. ## Knowledge and Skills * General breadth of knowledge and demonstrated practical experience within a specific legal concentration. * Developed knowledge of company policies and procedures. * Demonstrated understanding of legal negotiation or counseling. * Effective legal communication skills (written, verbal, active listening). * Developing experience addressing legal matters. * English language skills to business standard preferred. ## Impact/Scope * Scope is typically limited to providing basic legal advice and directing the efforts of other employees. * Impact is typically limited to narrowly defined areas and internal process improvements. ## Benefits and Salary HPE offers an extensive benefits package and a competitive salary.
