Manager - Indirect Tax - Vertex, Sabrix Implemention
The candidate will manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors. Will lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; and manage engagement risk. Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop 'thought-ware' and 'point-of-view' documents; participate in public speaking events; and get published in industry periodicals. Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; and provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.
The candidate should have Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field. Advanced degree such as MST, J.D. or LL.M. preferred. CPA a plus. Must have 5+ years of experience with: corporate, multistate, indirect or value-added tax (income tax compliance, FAS109, reporting, transaction tax compliance, etc.). Experience with a Big 4 firm, large corporate tax department of a multinational company, or large ERP integration is preferred. Strong interest in and aptitude for technology (Vertex, Sabrix etc.) is needed. Experience with tax technology applications (Vertex, Sabrix, Taxware, or Oracle Enterprise Business Tax) required. Experience in ERP system implementations preferred. Ability for heavy travel needed.
