Senior Legal Counsel (Bankruptcy, Credit and Collections) Duties: Act as a senior legal advisor for Company's US Downstream bankruptcy, collection, credit and other treasury matters. Provide legal advice and support at an experienced level on contracts and business regulatory matters to the Downstream Treasury organization in the US. Provide legal advice and support with respect to customer relationship issues, including support for dispute resolution and pre-litigation strategy and planning. Provide legal advice and support on policy and programmatic activities undertaken by Company's Treasury organization in the US in furtherance of its objectives. Maintain and update from time to time the forms, templates and other agreements and documents utilized by Company's Downstream Treasury organization in the US. Ensure that material activities and risks in the US are reported via the Managing Counsel Supply and Distribution/Commercial to the AGC M&M US/Central and South America. Conduct legal awareness training as needed and as requested from time to time. Supervise legal assistants work product, and provide direction, training and feedback. Instruct and manage external counsel with a view to minimizing external legal costs. Requirements: A J.D. degree is required; Member in good standing of TX Bar (or ability to acquire that status within 12 months). 8+ years legal experience. Strong academic and commercial background. Strong commercial contract experience. Knowledge of US bankruptcy, credit, collection and other treasury laws preferred. Strong powers of legal analysis, drafting and negotiation. Commercial, problem solving mindset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Broad experience in dealing with complex agreements, regulations and processes. Ability to work in a dynamic legal environment with clients who need to quickly respond to business and regulatory demands. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Ability to develop and sustain relationships with clients at all levels.
